Greek peripteros are miniature corner stores which ostensibly sell newspapers, cigarettes, sweets and drinks,
but can offer everything from ice cream, batteries and lightbulbs to watches and toys.
Many also have payphones, although the rapid spread of cell phones is rendering this service obsolete.
