Windpark northeast of Pythagorio. |

An electricity-generating wind farm high on a hill northeast of Pythagorio, near Agias Triadas Monastery (η Μονή Αγίας Τριάδας, Monastery of the Holy Trinity). This is one of four wind parks on Samos which provide over 15% of the island's peak electricity requirements.
The first electricity network on Samos was completed in the 1960s.
There is another windpark on the south coast of Samos, near the village of Marathokambos (see gallery page 32). |
