This view from the cliff to the south of Kastellorizo town shows the main harbour (left) and Mandraki harbour and the Horafia district (right).

Horafia, just to the west of Mandraki habour, is Kastellorizo's religious and cultural centre, identifiable in the photo (bottom right) by its four churches and two schools.

As its name indicates, Horafia (fields) was once an area of cultivated fields which became built-up during the 19th century as the island's population and economic fortunes grew.
